How to Create, Edit and Delete Tags

To further organize transactions, you can assign them a Tag in addition to a Category. For example, you might have a “Car”-Category and want to further subdivide it into “Repair” and “Gas”.

Create a Tag

  • To create a new Tag, open the “Settings” of the app and navigate to “General” => “Manage Tags”. In the upcoming view, you will see all the Tags that exist in the currently active Budget Book. The Tags are grouped by the first letter of their name.

To create a new Tag, click on the “+” button in the top right. Next you will see a new view where you can set the properties of the Tag:

PropertyDescription
NameThe unique name of the tag.
ColorThe color of the tag.
Properties of Tags
  • Finally click on “Save”. Your newly created Tag will then appear in the list of all the Tags that you have created.

Edit Tags

Edit a Tag

  • After you have created a Tag, you can edit it at any time. To do this, first go to the app’s settings and navigate to “General” => “Manage Tags” as you did when adding.
  • To edit a Tag, either swipe from right to left and click on the “Pen”-icon, or long press to open the context menu and select “Edit”.
  • After that, you can modify your existing Tag as you like and finally click “Save” to save your changes.
Tip

If you create a new Transaction and want to change the name of the Tag, for example, you do not have to cancel the process and switch to the settings. Instead, you can edit the corresponding Tag directly in the list of Tags displayed there.

Delete Tags

  • To delete a Tag, go to the app’s settings again and navigate to “General” => “Manage Tags”.
  • To delete a specific one, either swipe from right to left and click on the “Trash”-icon, or long press to open the context menu and select “Delete”.
  • You can also swipe from right to left and click on the “Pen”-icon or long press to open the context menu and select “Edit” to edit a specific Tag. At the bottom you will then find a “Delete Tag” button with which you can delete the currently edited Tag.
  • After that, a dialog will appear asking you to confirm the deletion. Once you confirm, the corresponding Tag will be deleted.
Tip

If you want to delete multiple Tags at the same time, you can also activate the editing mode using the “Pen” icon in the top right and select all Tags to be deleted. As soon as you click on “Delete” and confirm the dialog, all selected Tags will be deleted.
