Starting with iOS 16, you can also add widgets directly to your lock screen to see your account balances, suggested categories, and more at a glance. Since watchOS 10, you can even use them on your Apple Watch (e.g. in the Smart Stack).
Adding a widget
Adding a widget to your lock screen is as simple as for home screen widgets:
- First, tap and hold your lock screen until it goes into the editing mode.
- Then, tap “Customize” at the bottom and select your current lock screen.
- Select the area where you want to add a widget.
- Look for “Budget Flow” among the available widget options.
- Select the widget size that best suits your needs, as Budget Flow offers widgets in different sizes.
- After selecting the widget you want, simply tap “Done” to complete the process.
Customizing a widget
Budget Flow also offers several customization for some widgets (like the overview):
- To edit a widget, tap and hold your lock screen until it goes into the editing mode.
- Then, tap “Customize” at the bottom and select your current lock screen.
- After that, click on the lock screen widget which you want to customize.
- Depending on your preferences, you can decide what specific information you want your widget to display. For example, the “Overview” widget can display your account balances or your total expenses for the current month or year.
- When you are finished configuring your widget, tap “Done” to save your changes.
- Please note that not all widgets are customizable, so your options may vary.
